To Hunt, or Not to Hunt?

Hunting can be very controversial. Are you the type of teen to sit still in a blind all day, patiently waiting for your future dinner to stroll up? Or, are you the type to be loving towards all living creatures? Personally, I find enjoyment in the majority of the hunting process. I like to shoot guns, especially ones that I have never shot before. I dig wearing the camo, and I even enjoy sitting in a silent tree stand for hours at a time. It is very peaceful to me, just listening to nature. However, a friend of mine cannot stand something as simple as mentioning the word 'hunting'. She believes that it is cruel to kill anything living, and that all souls should have an equal opportunity to have this incredible life.
I very much agree with this perspective, but the population of deer is the first thing that comes to my mind when I am being convinced of the drawbacks of hunting. Without it, the deer population would be off the charts! Hunting is controlling the population so it doesn't grow beyond ours. To add, I am into the country lifestyle for 99% of the time. The one thing I can't do, and don't think I ever will be able to do, is gut a deer. I cannot stand the sight of blood, and to see the insides of such a poor creature, that's where I draw the line. Just the thought of it makes me sick to my stomach, and that is the only negative to hunting, in my opinion. Other than that, I believe hunting is a great part of the fall spirit!
